As of next May 1, 2024, Roman National Museum ticketing will switch to the e-ticketing service of the Italian Museums portal of the italian Ministry of Culture.
As of this date, tickets can be purchased by electronic payment only (in no case by cash)
- online at the Musei Italiani website
- from mobile with the Musei Italiani app available on Google Play and the App Store
- from totems located at the entrance of each site (exclusively with electronic payment cards).
The ticket purchased online from the site or app doesn’t need to be printed but can be saved on a phone and shown at the entrance.
The current rates remain unchanged, with the difference that online purchase will allow the visitor to choose the day and time of the visit.
What changes:
- tickets with reservations by desired date and time
- no more cash
- no more fee for online purchase
- no more physical ticketing, only online and totem purchase
- all tickets will be named except those purchased via totem physically at the venues
- ancillary services (audioguides, guided tours) are temporarily suspended until further notice
What remains the same?
- the fares
- the validity of tickets purchased by any means until April 30, 2024
Access for groups and schools
Schools and groups will be able to book their tickets independently through the Italian Museums website or from mobile with the Musei Italiani app available on Google Play and App Store, choosing the date and time of the visit and selecting free tickets in accordance with current regulations, where applicable.
Rates:
- Combined ticket 3 venues: full 12 € / reduced* 6 €. Allows one admission to each of the MNR venues for one week from the first admission.
- Single venue ticket: full 8 € / reduced* 2 €. Allows one access in only one of the Museum’s venues (Terme di Diocleziano / Palazzo Massimo / Palazzo Altemps).
- Museo in Rete ticket: combined 10 € / single venue 6 €. For Villa Farnesina ticket holders and American Express Card holders
- MNR CARD 25 €. Subscription, named and valid 1 calendar year from the date of first access, allowing unlimited entry to all venues of the National Roman Museum.
- Free: for those under 18 years of age, ICOM members and all other concessions provided by the regulations.
*Reduced: reserved for 18-25 year olds and Roma Pass holders.
Please note that for free and reduced tickets you must show at the entrance of the site a document proving your right to the reduction or free admission. Supervisory staff will be able to verify the actual possession of the requirements for reduced or free admission and prevent unauthorized persons from entering.
