- Questo evento è passato.
The Crypta Balbi: cantiere aperto tour, curated by Edith Gabrielli and Antonella Ferraro, was inaugurated on 9 July 2025. It was designed to allow scholars, citizens and enthusiasts to see the work in progress at the site with their own eyes.
Since January 2023, the Crypta Balbi has been closed to the public to allow for an extensive programme of archaeological excavations and architectural restoration work. To be precise, the area is undergoing nine interventions, five of which are part of the Urbs project. From the city to the Roman countryside, financed for over 50 million euros through funds from the National Complementary Plan (PNC) to the PNRR. The “Cantiere aperto” initiative was created precisely to share this moment of transition and show those who wish to see the activities in progress.
Starting on 12 July, every Saturday at 10.30 a.m. and 12 noon, it will be possible to take a guided tour of the site, led by staff from the National Roman Museum, which will provide an insight into the history of the site and recent discoveries.
